Alright, so I'm usually pretty skeptical about these little gadget things. I saw this "Original Xiaomi Mijia Portable Handheld Vacuum Cleaner" online and thought, "Yeah right, another one that'll look good in pictures but suck in real life." But I was desperate for something to clean up crumbs in my car and around my desk without lugging out my big vacuum, so I took a chance.
And wow! I'm actually blown away.
First off, it's tiny. Like, smaller than I expected. Which is a good thing! It fits perfectly in my car's glove compartment and doesn't take up much space on my desk shelf.
Second, the suction is surprisingly powerful. They advertise 13000PA, and honestly, I don't know what that actually means, but I can tell you it picked up everything I threw at it. Crumbs, dust bunnies, even some little bits of dried leaves I had in my car. I even used it to quickly vacuum up some spilled coffee grounds and it handled it like a champ.
The build quality feels really solid too. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. It has a nice weight to it, and the plastic seems durable.
What I really appreciate is how easy it is to use. One button to turn it on, one button to empty the dustbin. Super simple. And the dustbin is clear, so you can actually see how much gunk you're sucking up, which is both satisfying and a little gross.
The battery life is decent. I've used it for a good 20-25 minutes at a time, and it hasn't died on me yet. Charging is easy with the USB-C port.
Okay, downsides? Well, it's not going to replace your full-sized vacuum cleaner. Don't expect to clean your entire house with this thing.
